Butter Chicken


700 Gram Raw chicken

For Marination:

1/2 Kg Curd

To taste Salt

1 tsp Ginger and garlic paste

1 tsp Red chilli powder

For gravy:

175 Gram White butter

1/2 tsp Fenugreek leaves (crushed)

4 Green chillies, sliced

100 Gram Fresh cream

To taste Salt

1 tsp Red chilli powder

1/2 tsp Sugar

1/2 Kg Tomato, pureed

1/2 tsp Black cumin seeds


How to make butter chicken:

1.Wash chicken properly, marinate it by adding ginger garlic paste, curd, salt, red chilli powder, mix it properly and keep it in the refrigerator for overnight or for minimum of 6 hours.

2.Once it is marinated roast the chicken in a tandoor or in an oven for about 10 to 12 minutes till it is three-fourth done.

3.Now for the gravy heat half of the butter in a pan, add tomato puree in it and saute it for 2 to 3 minutes.

4.Add cumin seeds, allow it to splutter then add red chilli powder, sugar, salt and mix it properly.

5.Then add the chicken, fresh cream, crushed fenugreek leaves, sliced green chillies, white butter and saute it for 3 to 4 minutes and let the chicken cook.

6.Once the chicken is cooked properly, serve it hot with naan or rice.Butter Chicken
